Every restaurant has a name. Ours has a story.

When I was a child, I carried an E.T.-themed backpack everywhere I went. My classmates playfully combined my family name with “E.T.” and began calling me UT. What started as a childhood nickname became something I have treasured ever since—a reminder of friendship, laughter, and the simple joy of belonging.

Years later, when it was time to create a restaurant, I didn’t choose a name for marketing.
I chose a name that reminded me why people gather around a table in the first place.

The number 47 represents our home on West 47th Street in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen, where neighbors, Broadway audiences, travelers, friends, and families come together to share not only great food, but meaningful moments.

At UT47 Kitchen & Bar, Korean hospitality is at the heart of everything we do.

Our menu celebrates the flavors of Korea with a modern approach, from comforting brunch favorites and thoughtfully prepared dishes to handcrafted cocktails, premium Korean soju, carefully selected wines, and local beers.
